What Do Babies Want? Baby Nutty Helmets

Today, Thursday September 11, is the second day of the big Interbike bike-industry show in Las Vegas.

Nutcase is happy to be showing our 16 new Gen3 helmet designs for 2015, including three artists’ series helmets created by Sandra Ramirez, Ray Moore, and Todd Standish. We also have six new Little Nutty kids helmet designs on display at booth 1079.

In addition to all this newness, there’s a special sneak peak at the booth for showgoers: our not-yet-introduced, very cool and wonderfully sweet Baby Nutty line of helmets.

Rather than a hard outer shell and expanded polystyrene (EPS) liner that characterize the Little Nutty helmet, the Baby Nutty is an in-mold EPS helmet with a lighter polycarbonate shell. This helped us achieve a slightly lighter helmet suitable for smaller heads.

Little Nutty is now available in one size suitable for children with head sizes of 48 up to 52 centimeters and with three sets of pads and the spin dial system to perfect the fit. The Baby Nutty baby bike helmet will be available in a single size, fitting heads from 47 centimeters to 50 centimeters, with two sets of pads and an easy-adjust Velcro strap that facilitates a custom, “as you grow” fit.

An additional difference between “Little” and “Baby” is in the weight – the Little Nutty is best suited for kids five year old and older, and weighs 13.8 ounces (392 grams),

Baby Nutty, on the other hand, will weigh in at 9.9 ounces (280 grams).

Baby Nutty’s three initial designs – Petal Power, Nutty Swirl, and Outer Space – will also include mesh netting over the helmet’s air vents, and a slightly larger coverage area that will fit just a bit lower on smaller childrens’ foreheads.

If you are anywhere near Las Vegas, come by and check out these new helmets at Booth 1079.
